Y’know, just to see what’ll happen (she said, pretending she hadn’t been stalking the download stats since sending the link to all her friends last week).
I mean, if you drop few hundred dollars on some studio time, you might as well do something with the end product, right?
A few years ago Doc and I started working together, merging my lines with his original guitar melodies. Haven’t figured out yet what to call them—they’re not songs, but they’re more than poems now.
The music changes the mood, changes my voice when I read the lines out loud, adds a soundscape, gives me room to pause between phrases, lets the poem start without me and echo a little after my last word.
It’s hard to explain. But I know I like it.
